Keith Stakes

Fire/Rescue Deputy Chief

Keith joined BCCRS as a junior member, at the age of 16, while attending Walter Johnson High School. At WJ, he participated in the High School Fire Science Program and by the end of his senior year had completed all the classes and tests necessary to become a Firefighter.

At the age of 22, Keith became a Rescue Squad Driver, one of the youngest members of BCCRS to ever do so. He currently serves the Rescue Squad as the Deputy Chief.

Keith graduated from the University of Maryland with both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Fire Protection Engineering. He currently works as Fire Protection Engineer with the Underwriters Laboratories Firefighter Safety Research Institute carrying on his passion for the fire service by studying the effectiveness of firefighting tactics.
