Joe Morquecho

Volunteer Profile

Joe joined the Rescue Squad at the age of 19. He grew up in Cabin John and attended Walt Whitman High School. In 1985, he was hired by the Cabin John Park Fire Department as a paid firefighter and was later hired by the Montgomery County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

In 1990, Joe left the career fire service and became a police officer for the Washington Metropolitan Police Department where he has served for over 25 years.

In 2014, Officer Morquecho was awarded an MPD Medal of Valor for his actions at the Navy Yard shooting.

At the Rescue Squad, Joe has served as an operations officer for more than 24 years and has been an officer on six different night crews. He has received numerous Letters of Commendation, and many Rescue Squad awards.
