Multiple Crews Respond to House Fire

This past Sunday morning, the BCCRS heavy rescue squad (RS741) and ambulance (A741B) were dispatched for the House Fire on Drummond Avenue in Chevy Chase. Upon arrival, units discovered heavy fire and smoke showing from the first and second floors on side Alpha.

RS741 performed a rapid search of the first and second floors while the engine companies on scene attacked the fire. Meanwhile, A741B set up an aid station in front of a neighbor’s house. The medic unit (M741) responded on the rapid intervention dispatch and treated and transported a firefighter on scene who had symptoms of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

The primary and secondary searches were negative and BCCRS units were placed in service at approximately 4am, while a few other Montgomery County (MD) Fire & Rescue units remained on scene to extinguish smoldering embers in the walls.
