2018 Member Recognition Ceremony
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad held its 2018 Member Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, December 8th at the Imagination Stage in Bethesda. Imagination Stage sits on the piece of land that was home to BCCRS’s Auburn Avenue Headquarters many years ago! Recognizing our volunteers’ commitment to excellence is an important part of retaining our members. The following members were recognized at the banquet for performing above and beyond the exceptional standards that BCCRS requires:
- President’s Award – Robert Kretzmer and Capt. Chris Finelli
- Chief’s Award – Sgt. Robert Tapparo
- Special Action Awards: MFF William Rector, MFF Kevin Kane, FF John Kennedy
- Eric Weigold Top EMS Call Runners – Assistant Chief Jason Gill (1st) and Sanjin Sahadzic (2nd)
- Eric Weigold Top Fire Call Runners – Alex Braun (1st) and Sgt. Logan Dana (2nd)
- EMT of the Year – Sanjin Sahadzic
- Michael Chirigos Memorial Award for Paramedic of the Year – Sgt. Geoffrey Firestone
- Firefighter of the Year – Alex Braun
- Jack Hartley Memorial Award for Day Crew Member of the Year – Justin Baker
- Scott Sievering Officer of the Year – Lt. Joseph Takesuye
- Hiram Musgrove Memorial Award – Lt. Colin Brody (BCCRS) and the David Bender Foundation (Community)
- Donald L. Fitzgerald Memorial Award – Chief James Master (Ret.)
