Job Title: Lead Mechanic (Fire/Rescue/EMS Apparatus)
 
Salary Range: $48,824/year or $23.47/hr.  
 
Hours: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with overtime paid for hours worked in excess of 40 with various scheduling options available.        
 

In Memoriam Life Member Peter Francis Kratz, III, M.D.

It is with deep sorrow that we report that Life Member Peter Francis Kratz, III, M.D. passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.  Peter met his beloved wife Heather Calvert Kratz at the Rescue Squad while they were both volunteers and is survived by his two children Grace and Rose; devoted son of Peter and Cynthia Kratz; son-in-law of Skip and Linda Calvert; brother of Anthony (Katie) Kratz and Cynthia (Rob) Lauta; brother-in-law of Sara Calvert.

Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad responded to 9,662 individual calls for help in 2016

Last year the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad responded to 9,662 individual calls for help. That means, even accounting for the fact that last year was a leap year, Rescue 1 (Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad) answered, on average, more than one emergency call every single hour of every single day for the entire year!
