Our fire fighters and tools are transported on heavy trucks called Rescue Squads. These vehicles weigh more than 50,000 pounds and deliver crews to fire and rescue incidents with internal electrical power plants and hydraulic systems for crash rescue. We have two vehicles, Rescue Squad 741, our primary truck, and Rescue Squad 741 Bravo, a back-up truck. These unit identifiers are assigned by Montgomery County and serve as radio call signs that uniquely identify the vehicles during radio transmissions on fire communications radios. The Bravo identifier is added to the call sign of the second unit when two units of the same type operate from a single station.
