Shortly after the evening shift change on September 28, 2013, RS741 and A741B were dispatched to the area of Connecticut Ave. and Quincy St. for the house on fire. Updated information placed the call in the 6800 block of Connecticut Ave. and arriving units found a 3 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the top floor.
The Rapid Intervention Dispatch and Task Force were immediately struck, bringing M741 and C741C to the scene. The squad crew conducted a rapid search of the structure with negative results and found heavy fire on the 3rd floor. Twelve BCCRS volunteers operated on the scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service. This was the 3rd working fire for BCCRS within 3 days.
