Strut Your Mutt - Saturday, May 17,2008, 10 am-3 pmSponsored by the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club to benefit the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, Strut Your Mutt 2008 begins with a grand parade of strutting dogs and their owners on Woodmont Avenue between Bethesda Avenue and Hampden Lane. Following the dog parade are a variety of family activities and demonstrations galore for dog lovers. As always, Rescue Squad volunteers will be on hand with ambulances and rescue trucks for kids and families to explore. Those interested in volunteering with the Rescue Squad can learn more about what it's like to be a member of one of the nation's most advanced and best trained rescue squads. Join us for this fun-filled event on May 17, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. For registration information, visit www.strutyourmuttbethesda.org (Clicking on this link will open a new window in your browser and take you to a third-party site). Now in its 68th year, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS) is a philanthropically operated, community supported organization that provides, at no cost to the recipient, the highest level of emergency medical, ambulance, rescue, and fire services for the communities of Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Upper Northwest Washington, D.C. Thanks to the generous donations of the community, the efforts of 150 professionally trained volunteers, a staff of daytime employees, and 2 Montgomery County Paramedics, BCCRS has evolved into one of the nation's most advanced and best trained rescue squads, providing compassionate, lifesaving services to the community. BCCRS does not receive regular appropriated funds from any government. Instead, BCCRS raises almost all of its $1.5 million operating budget from individual donors, foundations, businesses, and occasional state and federal grants. BCCRS is registered under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and contributions are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
