History of the Anastasi Room

The Anastasi Room, formerly known as The Rose Room, was developed in 1979 by Gus Anastasi and is part of Bethesda, Maryland’s rich history. Able to accommodate up to 320 guests for a seated meal, this venue offers many amenities at a bargain. Gus created the ballroom as a place for the community to foster friendships in a relaxed environment. For many years, his staff consisted of all family members and word of mouth was the only form of advertising. From the beginning, fundraisers, dance classes, holiday parties, election parties, funerals, wedding receptions bar/batmitzvahs, proms and reunions of all kinds took place here becoming "the place in Bethesda" where many fond memories were created with family and friends.

Today, the room has been renamed in honor of Gus Anastasi. To further honor his place in the community’s history, the venue’s logo includes a purple rose. This flower, also known as a Sterling Silver Rose, was bred for fragrance and was Gus’ favorite flower.
