Rescue Squad 18

Rescue Squad 18 is a 2002 Spartan Gladiator Rescue long four door cab with a Saulsbury Stainless Steel 21' body. Rescue Squad 18 is currently serving as the front line heavy rescue squad for BCCRS. Like Rescue Squad 19, these units respond on auto accidents, structure fires, alarm bells (in place of a truck company), and specialized rescue calls, including confined space rescue.

Some of Rescue Squad 18's inventory consists of:

• It has a 45 KW PTO generator, and a
• 20 KW Koehler Diesel generator as a backup.
• Wilbart Night Scan Light Tower with 4 2000 Watt FRC Focus Lights and 10 body mounted 750 Watt FRC Focus Lights.
• 12,000# capacity Front Winch.
• 30,000# capacity Rear Winch.
• 3,000# capacity Side Winch useable from either side of the squad vehicle.
• Complete Amkus HRT package, including:
  • 4 preconnected reel lines, including
  • 1 preconnected spreader on either side of the squad
  Paratech Rescue Strut system
• Vetter high pressure and low pressure lift bags
• DeWalt 24v reciprocating saws
• Ajax Air Chisels
• Holmatro SCRT unit

Provide the basic extrication capabilities.

MSA Evolution 4000 and Evolution 5000 Thermal Imaging Cameras are provided for firefighting operations as are nine CairnsAir Pioneer Pro SCBA's

An Industrial Scientific Corporation MG140 Confined Space Kit for atmospheric monitoring. A Snake Eye Search Camera, and a ResQMax line gun are some examples of the specialized items of equipment carried.
