Air 1
Air 1 is one of two Air units operating in Montgomery County. It has a 19 cylinder cascade system with six cylinder fill stations and is used primarily for refilling SCBA cylinders on the fireground. Air 1 is dispatched on all second alarm responses in the western half of Montgomery County and is often special-called to working incidents to allow the units to refill cylinders and go back in service promptly. Air 1 also serves as one of the two primary units on the BCCRS Confined Space Emergency Rescue Team (CSERT). It carries very specialized equipment designed to meet OSHA and MOSH standards for confined space rescues. Air 1 and RS19 are dispatched on all confined space rescue calls. |
